Bell & Evans wanted a unique building that would be timeless and look new 50 years later. ±¬ÁÏ¹Ï delivered an aesthetically pleasing, functional building while also meeting the client’s processing, storage and employee needs. The 11 European-built Multivac form seal packaging lines, including a par-fry and nugget line, produce absolutely no water leakage - essential for sanitary packaging. Once the product is processed in this area, it is sent through a state-of-the-art cryogenic freezing system (nitrogen spiral freezer). The facility also includes employee welfare areas, cafeteria, locker room with laundry, and courtyard.
The facility is separated into a receiving dock and WIP (Work in Progress) cooler, tray wash room, primary packaging, secondary packaging, holding freezer, working freezer, cooler and shipping dock. There is also a shell for a future R&D space designed to test new products. Ancillary spaces include mechanical room, maintenance space, chemical storage, refrigeration room, electrical rooms and office spaces. At full buildout, Plant 2 will operate in two shifts to further process and package poultry for Plant 1 and the future harvesting facility (Plant 3). There is also 48,000 square feet reserved for a future addition for poultry processing cook lines.
Additional highlights include:
- Organic facility
- ±¬ÁÏ¹Ï has collaborated with Bell & Evans on multiple projects A/E design and preconstruction services
- Fast-track design & construction
